Description Bottle, Condiment - Clear glass, machine made, two piece mold bottle with combination style closure. This probably was a ketchup bottle made after the turn of the 20th Century based on the bottle finish, manufacture-type and uncolored glass. Prior to 1910 almost all ketchup bottles were hand blown, while after 1910 they were machine made. The top of the bottle will accept a crown cap like modern soda bottles, a screw cap, or a Goldy style cap. The Goldy style cap was made of metal with an internal cork that fit into the opening of the bottle. A thin metal strip was used to hold the cap in place, but once torn off allowed the cap to be reinserted. The Goldy cap was the most popular style of closure for ketchup bottles. The embossed "A-20" trademark on the bottom could not be traced to a specific manufacturer.
